SHOP AND CAFÉ
Take a break and enjoy the museum shop and café area.
An extensive range of souvenirs relating to mining and the Nord-Pas de Calais region is available to purchase at the shop or by mail order: books published by the Mining History Centre or other publishers (history, novels, cookery, patois, tourism, etc.), miners’ lamps (€32 – €210) as well as postcards, regional specialities, minerals, porcelain, key rings, pens, etc. If you are looking for something rather more unusual, fashion designer Noémie Lenancker has created fashionable scarves, shemaghs and bags personalised with a design inspired by a plan of the Lens mine concession held in the centre’s archives.
Hot and cold drinks, including several regional beers and aperitifs*, are also served.
